Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 2 Prime with 2GB RAM, in India.
Last week, we reported about the phone, which was briefly listed on Amazon India’s website, before the listing was pulled.
The Redmi 2 Prime sports a 4.7″ HD Display and runs on MIUI 6 based on Android KitKat. The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, with 2GB RAM and an Adreno 306 GPU. It comes with 16GB of internal storage, and supports up to 32GB of expandable memory via MicroSD card.
The Redmi 2 Prime features an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front camera. The Redmi 2 Prime is a dual-SIM phone which supports 4G LTE, is backed by a 2,200 mAh battery.
The Redmi 2 Prime has been priced at Rs.6,999 in India, and will be available from mi.com/in, Flipkart, Amazon India, and Snapdeal. Xiaomi is promoting the phone as “Made in India”, since the phone is manufactured in India, at Xiaomi and Foxconn’s manufacturing plant in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh.
