Lu Weibing, the General Manager of Redmi, has confirmed the Redmi K40 launch date in China. The phone is set to debut in the last week of February. He also mentioned some of the key specifications of the device.
Weibing says that the phone has a flat display, and this will offer better battery life than curved-screen phones. The Redmi K40 will have a high screen-to-body ratio, and has a very small punch-hole camera.
Weibing shared a camera sample taken from the Redmi K40, though it doesn’t say much about the phone’s features. It does appear to have a wide-angle FOV, but that’s pretty common nowadays.
The Redmi executive also reassured commenters on Weibo, that the Redmi K40 has dual stereo speakers. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, and is backed by a battery which is said to be above 4,000 mAh in terms of capacity.
Since it is using the latest flagship processor, the phone is expected to support 5G mobile networks. Rumour has it that there will be three phones in the Redmi K40 series; the K40, the K40 Pro and the K40S.
