The Redmi Note 3 has finally been updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, albeit with a Beta version of MIUI 8. Xiaomi sure took its own sweet time to provide Marshmallow, for what it often proudly calls its best selling device.
MIUI 8 Global Beta 6.9.9 was released today for the general public, who can now download the firmware from the official website.
As always try the beta version at your own risk.
And this is the link to download the Recovery version in the Zip format (flashable through TWRP or the MIUI Updater app)

Here is the fastboot ROM which can be flashed with the MiFlash Tool

The update also brings some new features to MIUI 8, and now you can swipe to the edge of the screen to hide the Quick ball launcher which was added in the first MIUI 8 version. You can now record music in stereo quality, quickly open the calendar app from the status bar by tapping the date.
A couple of bugs like the volume bar in second space, and FC issues when switching themes, and the infamous bootloop after updating have all been fixed.
