Redmi Note 8 launch date
The Redmi Note 8 launch date has been set for August 29th in China. It will debut along side the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Here’s what we can tell from the official teaser poster. The phone appears to have a metallic back panel, with quad cameras. 3 of these are placed in a large vertical bump, along with a fingerprint scanner. An LED flash and a fourth camera, which looks like a ToF lens sits next to the cameras. The Redmi Note 8 teaser mentions the number 6400, which indicates a 64MP camera on the phone. If you observe the image closely, you can read the branding below the cameras, it reads “64MP camera”.
Lu Weibing, Xiaomi’s GM, hinted that the Redmi Note 8 will have better cameras, a longer screen (with a high screen to body ratio), and has better battery life. The company has already announced that it would be using the new 64MP camera sensor, i.e., the ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor from Samsung, in its upcoming phones.
Xiaomi India chief Manu Jain has confirmed that a 64MP camera phone will be launched in India, this is likely to be the Redmi Note 8 and the Note 8 Pro.
