Xiaomi’s founder, Lei Jun took to Chinese social network, Weibo, to confirm, an important news about the company’s upcoming phone, the Redmi Pro. According to Jun, the Redmi Pro will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X25 chipset,
This is not exactly surprising, considering that we have seen a couple of leaks pointing to the same information. This one, for instance points to two variants of the phone, a Redmi Note 4 (possibly the lower end variant of the two) and a Redmi Pro. The second leak also hinted that the Redmi Note 4 will be powered by a Helio X20 chipset.
A third leak, which we reported earlier today, also hinted that the phone will be powered by the deca-core (1o core) Helio X25 chipset.
Xiaomi will be launching the Redmi Note 4/Redmi Pro on July 27th, i.e, next Wednesday, in China. It will be interesting to see what the Indian variant of the phone will be, as Xiaomi is banned from selling devices with MediaTek chipsets in our Country. Perhaps it could be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 powered one, which is only a very minor upgrade from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 powered Redmi Note 3.
