India has almost 78 crore phones out of which about 50 crores are feature phones . Entry level smartphones cost in the range of Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,500 which is still expensive for most entry-level feature phone users.
Jio feature phone is “Made in India” and comes with loads of features which till date are only available for smartphones. JioPhone comes with 4G VoLTE support which is basic requirement for Jio network. It includes access to apps like JioCinema, JioTV, and JioMusic. JioPhone will be effectively free for customers with a small catch.
If you want to grab a JioPhone, you need to give a security deposit of Rs. 1500 which is 100% refundable after three years. This simply means that you need to spend Rs. 1500 to get the JioPhone, but you can get that money back after three years.
JioPhone comes with unlimited free voice calls and offers 1 GB/Day 500 MB/Day Unlimited data pack at a price of Rs 153 each month. Jio also offers weekly and 2 day plans priced at Rs 53 and Rs 23 respectively with same benefits as monthly plans.
