After smartphones, hopefully we are going to see an era of Smart watches soon. Apple is reportedly working on an iWatch and Samsung just beat them by launching Samsung Galaxy Gear before the Apple rumored iWatch. We can’t say its a perfect product but its a start and hopefully we will see faster development now in smart watch scene.
Galaxy Gear is powered by a 800 MHz processor with 1.63 inch Super AMOLED (320 x 320) display along with 1.9 Megapixel auto focus camera with BSI Sensor. It can handle audio and video with formats like MP4, M4A and HD(720p) Playback & Recording. The device uses loads of gestures for its normal operation and user needs to get familiar with these gesture for full utilization of the device.
The device comes with an internal memory of 4 GB and is powered by 512 MB of RAM.
In terms of battery, it comes with standard Li-ion 315mAh battery. It would have been great if the battery capacity could have been increased as this small battery will mean that user need to recharge it often for uninterrupted use.
The device comes preinstalled with some featured apps along with the capability to install additional apps using Samsung Apps.
