Samsung is known for reducing the price of its Smartphones often, after the launch. The price cuts are often so drastic that after few months, a consumer can buy the same smartphone for half the price of actual launch price few months back. The latest smartphone which has just received a price cut is Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo.
Galaxy Grand Neo was launched at a price of Rs. 18,450, but it received a price drop in April last year bringing down the price to Rs. 17,100. Again in November, the Galaxy Grand Neoprice was dropped to Rs. 13,668. After that, this is another price drop which puts the Galaxy Grand Neo price at Rs. 10,990. Now if you compare it with the original launch price of Rs. 18,450, you can see that the price now is almost half the launch price.
The drop in prices of Samsung smartphone models in India can be attributed to the fact that companies like Xiaomi, Motorola, Xolo, ASUS are giving Samsung a tough fight in Indian smartphone market, almost pushing Samsung in a corner. Coming months will be interesting in terms of what Samsung has to offer to the Indian consumer to bring them back to it’s own brand which has drifted away from Samsung to other brands.
