Samsung’s upcoming device, the Galaxy J6 Prime has been leaked in unofficial renders and a 360 degree video which were made by Onleaks. The leaks reveal a design which is in stark contrast when compared to the design of the original J6.
For reference, the Galaxy J6 was launched in May 2018 in India. The J6 Prime is expected to make its debut soon, and sports a 6.0-inch HD+ 1520 x 720p Super AMOLED Infinity Display with an aspect ratio of 18::9.
Surprisingly, the Galaxy J6 Prime does not have a fingerprint scanner on the front or the back panel. So, where is it? Apparently, it is on the frame’s right edge, embedded in the power button like Sony Xperia devices have. What’s more, even the speaker grille is on the same edge of the frame. The phone features a selfie lens and a front facing LED Flash, and dual rear cameras which are placed in a vertical array.
If that feels modern, this certainly doesn’t, because the J6 Prime is equipped with a micro-USB port, but it does mean good news in a way, because there is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, and could ship with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage with a microSD card slot to provide for an expandable memory option.
Details about the phone’s battery and the Android version have not been leaked yet, but we can safely predict that it will run Android Oreo out of the box. According to the report, the Galaxy J6 Prime will be sold as the Galaxy J6 Plus in some Countries. The Galaxy J6 is available for about Rs. 13,000 in India, though it was launched for Rs. 15,000. We expect that the J6 Prime could be launched for a similar price, or perhaps a tad on the higher side.
