The Samsung Galaxy S22 series has been officially announced. Here’s everything you need to know about the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Display and Operating System:
The Galaxy S22 is equipped with a 6.1 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X FullHD+ Infinity-O-Display. The screen has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, and supports 10 – 120 Hz Refresh rate, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The Galaxy S22+ has a similar display that is slightly bigger at 6.6 inches.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra sports an Infinity-O Edge curved screen which is 6.8 inches in size. The Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen has a QHD+ resolution of 3080 x 1440 pixels. The Ultra model is the only one of the series to support the Galaxy S-Pen stylus. All three phones run on One UI 4.1 based on Android 12. The South Korean electronics giant has promised to deliver four years of Android OS updates for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, and support the devices with 5 years of security updates.
Processor, RAM and Storage:
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor for the variants that will be sold in India, China and the U.S. The rest of the world will get the models powered by an Exynos 2200 chipset.
The Galaxy S22 and S22+have 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be available in multiple trims comprising 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB of storage.
Cameras:
The Galaxy S22 and S22+ feature a 50 megapixels sensor with an 85° FOV, an f/1.8 aperture lens that supports optical image stabilization (OIS), assisted by a 12 MP ultra wide-angle lens with an 120° FOV, an f/2.2 aperture lens, and a 10 MP telephoto lens with a 36° FOV, an f/2.4 aperture, OIS, and an LED Flash.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra has an 108 megapixels sensor with an 85° FOV, and an f/1.8 aperture. In addition to the 10MP Telephoto lens and the 12MP Ultra-wide angle lens on the other models, the Ultra version has an additional 10MP Telephoto sensor with a 11° FOV, f/4.9 aperture, 230mm, 1/3.52″, 1.12 µm, 2PD, and OIS.
The Galaxy S22 and S22+ have a 10 megapixels f/2.2 selfie lens on the front, with an 80° FOV, 25mm, 1/3.24″, 1.22 µm, and 2PD. Samsung has packed a 40 MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Battery:
The battery on the Galaxy S22 is a 3700 mAh cell that supports 25W Fast Wired Charging over a USB Type-C port. The Galaxy S22+ packs a 4500 mAh battery while the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 5000 mAh cell. Both the Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra support 45W Wired Charging, while all three devices in the Galaxy S22 series support 15W Wireless Charging.

Samsung Galaxy S22 price
The Samsung Galaxy S22 price starts at $799, while the Galaxy S22 Plus carries a price tag of $999 for the base model. Samsung has priced the Galaxy S22 Ultra at $1,199 for the base version. The Galaxy S22 phones will start shipping from February 25th.
