Camera bump in smartphone designs irrespective of how small, does bother many consumers & even designers and hence brands try to get rid of that as much as possible. When it comes to a flagship device such as Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7, the company did it’s best to make the camera bump disappear by making it as thin as possible. If you check back, the camera bump on Galaxy S6 was 1.7 mm, whereas it got reduced to almost half to 0.8 mm with Galaxy S7.
The next flagship device from Samsung is Galaxy S8 and a new leak spotted today on Chinese social network weibo indicates that Samsung Galaxy S8 may eliminate the camera bump completely by making it to 0.0 mm which indicates a seamless integration of camera module into the smartphone body with no camera bump. The leak though says that in 2015 when Galaxy S6 was released, the camera bump was 1.3 mm which in our opinion is wrong as the camera bump with Galaxy S6 is 1.7 mm.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be unveiled to select media at Mobile World Congress MWC 2017 on March 29, followed by public unveiling in last week of April.
As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
