The successor to Samsung Galaxy On5 2016 i.e. Galaxy On5 2017 with the model number SM -5528 has appeared on Chinese certification portal TENNA revealing all the technical specifications of the device. The Galaxy On5 2016 was launched in India last year as Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime and we can expect a similar name for the Galaxy On5 2017 when launched in India. The device has already received the WiFi certification from the WiFi Alliance (WFA) last month.
As per TENAA listing, Samsung Galaxy On5 2017 sports a 5.0 inch 720p HD display and is powered by 1.4 GHz Quad Core processor along with 2 GB of RAM. It comes in three variants of internal storage i.e. 16 GB / 32 GB / 64 GB along with support for expandable storage via microsd card up to 128 GB and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system.
In terms of camera, it comes with 13 MP main rear camera with support for full HD 1080p video recording and a 5 MP front shooter for selfies. The phone is backed by a decent size battery of 2600 mAh. In terms of dimensions, it measures 142.8 x 69.5 x 8.1 (mm) and weighs 143 grams. In terms of connectivity options, the phone includes support for Bluetooth, WiFi and 4G LTE along with VOLTE. The phone will be available in Gold color. The front Home button must have the fingerprint sensor integrated though it is not mentioned on TENAA listing.
The Galaxy On5 2016 was launched in India as Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime along with Galaxy On7 or J7 Prime. Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime sports a 5-inch HD 720p display and is powered by Exynos quad-core processor along with 2GB RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system. The phone is backed by a 2,400 mAh battery. In terms of camera, it features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture & an LED flash, and another 5-megapixel front-shooter with f/2.2 aperture for selfies. The phone includes a fingerprint sensor integrated into its home button.
