Samsung has announced availability of the Galaxy Alpha in mid August and now is made available in India today for a price of ₹39,990. Samsung Galaxy Alpha is the first smartphone from Samsung with a metal-body made of an anodized aluminum frame with chamfered edges on the side.
Galaxy Alpha sports a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD display and is powered by 1.8GHz Exynos 5 Octa processor supported with 2GB of RAM. In terms of storage it comes with 32GB of internal storage. It also comes with 4G LTE support.
The device has no micro SD slot and hence you can not expand storage using a micro SD card.
In terms of operating system it runs on Android 4.4 kitkat along with Samsung’s usual software enhancements like Ultra-Power saving mode, S Health, Private mode, Download Booster, Quick Connect etc.
In terms of camera, it comes with a 12 MP rear camera along with a 2.1MP front shooter. Apart from that, it also comes with a fingerprint scanner, NFC connectivity and heart-rate monitor.
It will be available in India in black, white, and gold from 1st week of October at a price of Rs 39,990. It appears that Galaxy Alpha will not be available through online retailers like Flipkart or Amazon but will only be sold through offline retailers.
