Ski Safari 2, the sequel to the endless runner, er….skiing game, has been released for Android devices.
First and foremost, Deviant Development has not released the game, but instead it has been released by the official developer Sleepy Z Studios themselves.
I last played the original Ski Safari, when I bought the Nexus 7 2012, so the nostalgia factor definitely kicks in, while playing the sequel. In fact Ski Safari 2 is very reminiscent of its predecessors but for a few changes.
The graphics look to be better, but the most important changes are that you can switch between a pair of Skis and a Snowboard.
You can play as the classic character, Sven, or as his sister Evana.
Ski Safari 2 lets you perform tricks, by swiping on the screen, and three tricks in a row give you a boost.
The game still has the same gameplay which begins with an avalanche knocking the character out of his (or her) house and onto the Skis or Snowboard and then navigate through the landscape and avoid various obstacles.
The game has various animals you can ride on, penguins, yetis, eagles, and includes the Snowmobile, a Motorbike.
Prehistoric animals such as the mammoth appear frozen in ice, and once the ice breaks they give you a ride for a short while.
Oh, and if the game is too easy, try the Frantic mode.

The freemium thing is done correctly with this game, as that the IAPs are entirely optional.
