As expected, Smartron has just launched a new smartphone srt.phone at an event in New Delhi India. The name of the phone includes the prefix “srt” which basically is short form of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar and the phone derives its name from the cricketing legend who is backing the Smartron and it’s devices. This is the second smartphone launched by the company, first being the t.phone launched last year.
Smartron srt.phone sports a 5.5 inch Full HD 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm snapdragon 652 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB / 64 GB of internal storage, but there is no support for expandable storage via microsd card. It runs on Android 7.1.1. Nougat based operating system upgradeable to Android O. The company claims to offer three major Android upgrades on the srt.phone.
In terms of camera, it comes with 13 MP main rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and another 5 MP front-shooter with wide-angle lens for selfies. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back panel and is backed by 3,000 mAh battery along with support for fast charging with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.
