If you own one of the old Sony Xperia devices ( out of those listed below in this post), then here is some bad news for you if you were waiting for an upgrade. Sony has decided to end support for these Xperia devices which are almost 18 months or 2 years old and have reached their end of life period in terms of software support.

Sony xperiacare-wiredIn simple terms, this means that these old Sony smartphones will “not receive any further software upgrade support”.

The devices which have reached this “End of Life” period are:

  • Xperia Arc S,
  • Xperia S,
  • Xperia SL,
  • Xperia Ion,
  • Xperia Acro S,
  • Xperia Go,
  • Xperia P,
  • Xperia J,
  • Xperia Miro,
  • Xperia Sola,
  • Xperia Tipo and
  • Xperia U

So if you own anyone of the devices listed above, don’t expect any Android software upgrade from Sony.
