Sony India announced its range of Android TVs along with World’s Slimmest LED TV which comes with a thin display of just 4.9 mm. These Android TVs are powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop along with Sony own apps and features such as Notify BRAVIA. These new models range from 43 inch to 75 inch display size and include 5 new series with 13 new models.
These Android TV’s offer Google features like Google Play Store, Voice Search, Google Cast and connectivity with third party accessories comes along with Sony features like Serial Abtak and Notify BRAVIA. Serial Abtak is specifically created for Indian consumers which pulls the latest serials from different entertainment channels letting the user watch them at their convenience.
The notify feature using the Bravia Notify app brings the Android notification centre feature to TV and it allows TV to notify about Phone calls, sms, email or any other notification directly on the TV provided your smartphone is connected via bluetooth. This feature comes with loads of customisation options letting you manage these notifications on your TV display effectively.
The remote comes with inbuilt mic which lets you use voice commands on TV just like “Google Now” on your smartphone. This feature is quite useful as it lets you do a lot without typing on a keyboard which is a cumbersome process to do using a remote.
It also gives access to Google play store letting you access games, movies, TV shows and more from Google Play Store just like smartphone. Though we need to see how effective this is, considering the varying screen sizes on TVs.
Sony also announced their slimmest LED TV, which they claim to be World’s Slimmest LED TV. Sony BRAVIA™ 4K LED TV comes with a thinness of just 4.9 mm and is powered by 4K Processor X1. This thinness is that of the LED display that is being used and not the full TV.
These Android TVs will be available at all Sony Centers and major electronic stores across India with a price range starting at Rs. 69,900.
