Sony has announced that they will begin rolling out Jelly Bean updates for some of their Xperia mobiles this week.
Along with the latest version of Android 4.1, Sony Xperia T and Sony Xperia V will be getting some special tweaks from Sony, including:
- Updated versions of Sony apps: WALKMAN, Album and Movies
- Improved homescreen experience for handling widgets, apps and shortcuts.
- An improved application tray, with folder creation and search.
- Improved Camera with a more intuitive viewfinder with the addition of auto scene setting, & easy switching between the front and rear cameras with a touch.
- Support for Google Now.
But it appears that the Japanese electronics giant will not be updating older phones such as the Xperia Sola. And users of some of the older devices are not taking kindly to the lack of Jelly Bean support, as many of them have worded their frustration by commenting at Sony’s blog.
Even the Xperia TX has been left out of this update, at least for now.
Anyway, if you happen to own an Xperia T or V, you should get a notification that an update is available for download.
