Sony has officially launched the Xperia X, X Performance and XA at MWC 16.
Let’s take a look at the main device first.
Sony Xperia X Performance
This is the current flagship phone from the Japanese company. It sports a 5-inch 1080p Full HD display. The phone is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 3 GB of RAM and an Adreno 530 GPU. It has 32 GB of internal storage, and supports up to 200 GB of expandable memory via a microSD card slot.
The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and will come in Single SIM and Dual SIM variants. It features a 23 MP rear camera with an Exmor RS sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, Predictive Hybrid AF, 1080p video recording. The selfie lens is a 13 MP front-facing camera with an Exmor RS sensor, 22 mm wide-angle lens with an f/2.0 aperture, and is capable of recording 1080p FullHD videos.
The Xperia X Performance has a fingerprint scanner and sports a metal body. The device measures at 70.4 x 143.7 x 8.7mm and weighs at 164 grams. Connectivity wise, the phone supports 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ GLONASS. The phone is backed by a 2700 mAh Battery which supports Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging.
The Xperia X Performance will be available in four colours: White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold and Rose Gold.
Sony Xperia X
This is a mid range phone which has a similar display and cameras to the X Performance. The only differences are that the Xperia X is powered by a 64-bit hexa-core (4x 1.2GHz ARM A53 + 2 x 1.8 GHz ARM A72 ) Snapdragon 650 processor with an Adreno 510 GPU, and 3 GB RAM.
The device measures at 69.4 x 142.7 x 7.9mm and weighs at 153 grams, and is backed by a 2630 mAh Battery which supports Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging.
Sony Xperia XA
This is the entry level phone of the lot, and sports a 5-inch 720p HD display, and is powered by an 1.8 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor with a Mali T860 GPU and 2 GB RAM. The Xperia XA has 16 GB of internal storage, and supports up to 200 GB of expandable memory via a microSD card slot. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The phone features a 13MP rear Camera with an Exmor RS sensor,capable of recording 1080p FullHD videos and an 8 MP front-facing camera with a Sony Exmor R sensor and an 88-degree wide-angle lens. The device measures at 143.6 x 66.8 x 7.9 mm and weighs at 137.4 g. It is backed by a 2300 mAh battery with Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging.
