Sony has announced Xperia Z Ultra WiFi only “Tablet” in Japan which basically drops all the cellular connectivity / radios needed for cell service from the existing Sony Xperia Z Ultra and hence making it perhaps the smallest tablet.
Everything else looks same as the smartphone version of the device. The device is powered by 2.2 GHz Qualcom Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM and is water-resistant. It sports a big 6.4 inch display with is 1920×1080 resolution too.
At the moment, this is released only in Japan with no details on its availability in other parts of the world including US. In japan, the device will be available on January 24. In terms of pricing, it is priced at about 52,000 yen, or $500.
