Sony Xperia Z5 was launched at ongoing IFA event in Berlin apart from two other Z5 variants i.e Xperia Z5 compact and Xperia Z5 premium. Xperia Z5 sports a 5.2 inch full HD 1080p Triluminos display. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) Octa Core processor, along with Adreno 430 GPU and 3 GB of RAM.
In terms of storage, it comes with up to 32 GB flash memory and support for expandable memory via microSD card up to 200 GB. The device runs Google Android 5.1 (Lollipop) as its operating system.
In terms of camera, Xperia Z5 sports a 1/2.3” 23 MP main rear camera (Sony Exmor RS for mobile sensor) which comes with Hybrid autofocus of just 0.03 seconds, 5 x Clear Image Zoom and up to 8x Digital Zoom. The sensor comes with video stabilisation and can record 4K video.
Apart from this main rear camera, it sports a 5 MP front camera with Sony Exmor R for mobile sensor and Pulse LED Flash which can record full HD video. It also comes with video stabilization and Wide-angle lens (25 mm).
It supports Single nano SIM. Dual SIM variant of the device though already exist. In terms of size, it’s dimensions are 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm . The weight of the device is 154 grams.
The device is powered by a decent 2900 mAh battery.
In terms of connectivity, it comes with support for 3G/4G/ WiFi/ NFC. Apart from these, it comes with Waterproof & dust tight (IP65 and IP68 ), Fingerprint sensor.
Price and Availability
Xperia Z5 will launch globally starting October 2015 and will be available in both Single SIM and Dual SIM variants. Sony is yet to announce pricing details for the device which will vary from country to country for sure.
