The ever popular Swype keyboard app received a rather important update today.
Version 1.8 brings in a feature which could come in very handy, a Floating Keyboard.
If you long press the “?123” key, you will see quite a few keyboard layouts , drag your finger to the icon which has a dot underneath the space bar.
The keyboard is now in floating mode, and can be moved across the screen by dragging on the = symbol beneath the spacebar.
It works only in portrait mode on phones, but on both landscape and portrait modes on Tablets.
The update also adds 3 new free themes: Material Light, Material Dark, and Bumblebee.
In addition to various bug fixes and performance improvements, the update also adds support for the following languages:
- Vietnamese Telex
- German CH
- Italian CH
- Burmese Zawgyi
- Sinhala
Version 1.8 update for Swype Keyboard is now available from the Google Playstore.
