Viber has updated their VOIP and Instant messaging app to add support for Video calls.
The update comes barely a day after the company asked it’s users on Facebook, if they would like the feature in the app.
This is undoubtedly one of the most sought after feature, and could now push the app to provide some serious competition for it’s biggest rival, Skype. Video calls on Viber are available for any device running on Android 4.0 and above.
The other major changes that the update brings includes a New UI, better looking icons. You can now add friends easily by entering their Viber number or scanning their QR code from within the app. The app is now available in Bulgarian, Persian, and Serbian languages.
Though their change log doesn’t mention any performance fixes, I could notice a significant improvement in the app’s speed. Kudos to them.
If you haven’t tried Viber yet, give it a whirl. It is free.

The app is also available for Windows PC, Windows Phone and iOS.
