Yesterday, we reported that Hugo Barra, Xiaomi’s VP of International, had confirmed that the company’s upcoming flagship phone, the Mi 5 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC.
And now Xiaomi has revealed when the phone would be launched.
Xiaomi’s head of marketing, Li Wan Qiang announced on Weibo, that the company plans to launch the Xiaomi Mi 5 after the Spring Festival, which is also known as the Chinese New Year. This year’s festival is on February 8th, so perhaps we could expect a launch in the second week of the month.
Rumours suggest that the phone will feature sunlight display, double tap to wake, edge tap and USB Type-C, which are already present in some Xiaomi/Redmi devices. It will also have a large battery and a fingerprint scanner.
