Xiaomi Mi 5 is still few weeks away from the official launch and information about the device is coming in bits & pieces either from the company itself or from leaks. The latest hint or confirmation comes from none other than Lei Jun, the CEO & founder of Xiaomi Inc.

On the chinese social networking site Weibo, Lei Jun confirmed that Xiaomi Mi 5 will be coming with a fingerprint scanner and the device will be suitable for one handed operation.

MI 5 Fingerprint Scanner

The message is in chinese and we used Google translate to translate it to english. This is what it comes as:

To be honest to you, I look forward to than anyone else millet 5, I need a fingerprint and can be operated with one hand phone.

It confirms that Mi 5 will feature a fingerprint scanner. It also hints a lot about the size of the Xiaomi Mi 5. If Mi 5 is designed to be suitable for one handed operation, then it is confirming the earlier leaks which suggests the size of the device as 5.2 inches. Still we would wait for the official launch before we can be sure of 5.2 inches size.

Till now we know for sure that it will be powered by Snapdragon 820, 4 GB RAM and support NFC. THe other details come from leaks which suggest the size of device as 5.2 inches, 3600 mAh battery and a 16 / 8 MP cameras.

A geekbench listing also suggest a 3 GB RAM variant of the device.
