After numerous rumors, Xiaomi has officially announced Xiaomi Mi 5C which is also the first smartphone to be powered by Xiaomi own Pinecone processor Surge S1. If you checkout the specifications of Xiaomi’s first independent SoC Pinecone Surge S1, it comes with 2.2 GHz A53 Octa-core along with Mali-T860MP4, 64-bit architecture and includes VoLTE support.
Xiaomi Mi 5C sports a 5.15 inch display powered by Surge S1 Processor along with Mali-T860MP4 GPU and 3 GB LPDDR3 of RAM. It comes with 64 GB eMMC 5.0 of internal storage and runs on Android 7.1 (upgradeable) with MIUI on top.
In terms of camera, it sports a 12 MP main rear ultra-sensitive camera sensor with 1.25μm large pixel size and another 8 MP front shooter for selfies with smart beauty 3.0. It is backed by a 2850 mAh battery along with support for fast charging with 9V/2A charger. It sports a metal body and weighs just 132 grams.
Mi 5C is priced at 1499 Yuan (~Rs. 15,000 or $220) and will be available for sale in China from 3rd March. Xiaomi is yet to announce any detail about its availability in other countries such as India.
