A new variant of Xiaomi Mi 5 appears to be in works which may be unveiled under the name of Xiaomi Mi 5X. Xiaomi Mi 5 was launched a year back in April 2016 and it seems odd that the company is working on another variant of Mi 5, yet if true then Xiaomi Mi 5X appears to be a downgrade of Xiaomi Mi 5 and you can consider it as a lite variant in terms of hardware specifications. The leak comes in the form of an image of Mi 5X poster which reveals the basic hardware specifications of the device along with the price in China.
As per the leaked image, Xiaomi Mi 5X sports a 5.5-inch display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4 GB of RAM. Though the image doesn’t indicate the resolution of the phone, we can safely assume it to be a full HD 1080p display. The poster also includes a small portion of the phone image which suggests a dual camera module at the rear. The poster also suggests that Xiaomi Mi 5X will be available in China for a price of 1,999 Yuan ( ~$295 or Rs. 19,000).
Even though we have no idea of the design of the phone, but it seems that a mysterious Xiaomi phone image leaked a few days ago may be this Mi 5X. Have a look:
We have already seen a Xiaomi Mi 5C variant that was unveiled in February 2017. Xiaomi Mi 5C which is also the first smartphone powered by Xiaomi own Pinecone processor Surge S1.
