The next flagship smartphone from Xiaomi i.e. Mi 6 was expected to be officially launched by the end of February 2017. New rumors (1, 2, 3) now indicate that the official launch of Mi 6 may be delayed by few months and may actually happen in April 2017. The reason behind this postponement of Mi 6 launch appears to be “Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 being not ready”. Mi 6 was rumored to be one of the first smartphones powered by upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor making it the first Chinese device to feature the upcoming SoC, along with Samsung Galaxy S8.
If these rumors are to believed, they also indicate that Xiaomi Mi 6 will be coming with Dual cameras and support for Xiaomi Fast charge. Other features of the device include an ultra narrow frame for the device and four antennas. We do not have more details on what ultra narrow frame and four antennas mean in specific terms. Similarly, we got no details on rumored dual camera setup of the device. Some renders of alleged Mi 6 leaked earlier, but they showed a single camera setup instead of a dual camera setup.
Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumored to run on MIUI 9 OS based on either Android 7.0 or Android 7.1 Nougat update. It is expected to come with 6 GB of RAM and include support for USB Type-C. All these are still rumors and we haven’t seen any credible leaks coming out on Mi 6.
