Xiaomi is set to announce their next flagship device Mi 8 at a launch event in China on May 31. We have already seen some alleged real-life images and hands-on video of the phone with the latest leak coming in the form of alleged Press render revealing the front of the device. We already know that Xiaomi MIUI 10 will be unveiled on May 31 and Mi 8 is powered by MIUI 10.
Today, some images of posters from retailers in China have surfaced on Weibo which indicate that Mi 8 base variant will be priced at 2999 Yuan ($470). The retailers have pasted these posters on their shops front, though these posters don’ reveal any details about the hardware specifications of the device.
At the moment, not much is known about the hardware specifications of Xiaomi Mi 8 though rumours suggest that Mi 8 may feature a 6.01” display with a wide notch having in-house 3D sensors for face unlocking. In terms of hardware, it is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SOC with up to 8GB of RAM. In terms of pricing, it is rumoured to be priced at CNY2,999 (around €400/$470) for the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant while the high-end version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage for CNY3,199 or about €420/$500.
