We are still a week away from Xiaomi official unveiling of their new flagship device Mi 8 at a launch event in China on May 31. We have already seen some alleged real images of the upcoming device including an alleged hands-on video & press render. Apart from these, we also have some leaks suggesting the price of base variant of Mi 8 starting at 2,999 Yuan.
Today, we have one more addition to this list in the form of an alleged retail box which confirms the notch at top of the display and dual camera module at rear aligned vertically. The box doesn’t reveal the full rear panel and hence no fingerprint sensor is visible which matches with the rumour of an in-display fingerprint sensor embedded under the display.
The retail box also confirms the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and Artificial Intelligence AI capabilities which are mentioned on the box. The box shows the Blue colour variant of the device while the edges on rear appear chamfered.
Latest rumours indicate that Mi 8 sports a 6.2-inch Full HD (1080×2280) 19:9 display (Earlier reports suggested 6.01-inch display) powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In terms of camera, it features a dual camera module consisting of 20MP (f/1.7) and 16MP f/2.0 sensors, while on the front a 16MP f/2.0 shooter is there. It measures 7.8mm in thickness and weighs ~172g and is backed by a 3,300 mAh battery.
We already know that MIUI 10 is going to be unveiled on May 31 and will be powering the Mi 8. In terms of pricing, it is rumoured to be priced at CNY2,799 (around €370/$440) for the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant while the high-end version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage for CNY3,199 or about €420/$500.
As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
