Just yesterday we reported that Xiaomi may also launch a Xiaomi Mi 8 SE smartphone on May 31 during the upcoming launch event in China, in addition to MI 8, Mi Band 3 and MIUI 10. Though the company is yet to confirm even the existence of Mi 8 SE, yet leaks have started to surface on the web which confirms the same. Today we have some additional details about this smartphone which gives us sneak peek into what’s in store.
The latest leak suggests that Xiaomi Mi 8SE will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. The same SOC chip or processor is rumoured to power the lower variant of Vivo NEX too. Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform is the latest SOC from Qualcomm which brings In-Demand Premium Features to a new tier of Smartphones and still to come in the smartphones.
The leak also reveals that Mi 8 SE will feature a 20MP front shooter for selfies & video calls along with support from AI (Artificial Intelligence). It suggests that the phone comes without Wireless charging and the conventional fingerprint sensor instead of the rumoured under-screen fingerprint sensor for MI 8. Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t reveal any other hardware specification details of the device, but it does indicate the possible price. The phone may be priced at 2499 Yuan.
The premium flagship Mi 8 is rumored to feature a 6.2-inch Full HD (1080×2280) 19:9 display powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage runningMIUI 10. In terms of camera, it sports a dual camera module consisting of 20MP (f/1.7) and 16MP f/2.0 sensors, while on the front a 16MP f/2.0 shooter is there. It is backed by a 3,300 mAh battery. In terms of pricing, it is rumoured to be priced at CNY2,799 (around €370/$440) for the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant while the high-end version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage for CNY3,199 or about €420/$500.
