Xiaomi has officially announced the Mi Band 2, in China. And unlike its predecessor, which did not have a display, the Mi Band 2 comes with an OLED display.
The band has a heart rate sensor, which was also not available in the first gen fitness band. MI Band 2 display shows the time, step count, heart rate, power, calories and other information such as notifications for SMS, Phone Calls etc. The battery life of Mi Band is said to be increased by about 55% compared to first gen band and now claimed to last 20 days which is pretty impressive for a device with Bluetooth and a OLED display.
The Mi Band 2 has been priced at 149 Yuan (which is about Rs 1500) in China and will be available for sale from June 7. It will be interesting to see if the device will be launched in India.
