Xiaomi has officially unveiled the successor to its budget wearable, the Mi Band in China.
The new device is called the Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse, and as the name implies, it comes with a heart rate sensor.
The image shows the optical heart rate sensor which track your pulse rate, to provide the data. Xiaomi says that the new band also tracks your sleep better than its predecessor did, and also has an improved strap.
The Mi Band Pulse measures at 37 x 13. 6 x 9.9 mm and weighs 5.5 g. The manufacturer touts that band will deliver 20 days of battery life. The wearable is compatible with all phones with Android 4.4 Kitkat or above and iOS 7 or above, with Bluetooth 4.0.
For using the smart unlock feature of the band, you will need a phone with Android 5.0 Lollipop or above, or one of the following Xiaomi devices (with MIUI 6 and above).
Mi 2/2S/2A, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Mi 4C, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2/2A, Redmi Note and Redmi Note2.
The Mi Band Pulse has been priced at 99 Yuan in China. The price translates to about Rs 1000 or $15.56.
