The successor to the Mi Max 2 is here. Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi Max 3 today in China.
The phone has a 6.9-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, an 18:9 aspect ratio, 520nits brightness, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, and an 84% NTSC Color Gamut. The device runs on MIUI 10, and supports AI Face Unlock. The Mi Max 3 has a fingerprint scanner on the back panel.
The device runs MIUI 10 based on Android Oreo, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. The Mi Max 3 will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB of storage respectively.
The Mi Max 3 is equipped with a 12MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture and a 1.4μm pixel size, and a 5MP secondary camera which support dual pixel autofocus. The dual cameras on the Mi Max 3 are placed in a vertical alignment with an LED Flash sitting between the lenses. The selfie lens on the device is an 8MP camera with a 1.2μm pixel size, and an f/2.0 aperture.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 supports Dual SIM cards, with VoLTE, 4G/3G/2G, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4 GHz and 5GHz, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, AGPS, Glonass, Beidou. The phone has a Distance sensor, Ambient light sensor, Gyro, Accelerometer, Hall sensor, Electronic compass and an Infrared sensor for remote control.
The Max 3 packs a 5500mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, and parallel charging. Xiaomi claims that the device can be charged up to 71% in 60 minutes. The Mi Max 3 has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. The device measures at 176.15 x 87.4 x 7.99 mm and weighs at 221g. The phone will be available in Black, Gold and Blue colours.

The Mi Max 3 4GB/64GB variant has been priced at 1699 RMB ($252 or Rs. 17,340) while the 6GB and 128 GB variant is priced at 1999 RMB ($297 or Rs. 20401). Now, who was it that predicted this correctly yesterday, oh yes it was yours truly. The phone will be available in China this month.
