Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 launch date set for October 15th, and a new patent confirms the sliding phone design
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 launch date has been leaked ahead of the official announcement. The phone could be launched on October 15th, in China.
This isn’t the first time that the Mi Mix 3 launch date has been leaked. It was supposed to be launched on September 15th, but that leak turned out to be fake. Or perhaps the company ran into some issues, which have since been fixed?
Here’s what we know about the device so far.
A hands-on video leak of the Mi Mix 3, revealed that the phone has a sliding mechanism. This enables the phone to have an all-screen design, with no selfie cameras or a notch, and almost no bezels. The selfie lens comes into view when the slider is used.
This is an official Mi Mix 3 photo, which was posted by Xiaomi President, Lin Bin, on Weibo. It gives the best look at the phone, which we have seen yet.
The Mi Mix 3 could support 5G, according to a photo of the device which was “leaked’ by Xiaomi’s spokesperson, Donovan Sung.
We spotted a Xiaomi patent, that shows a sliding phone design, which seems to be similar to the mechanism used in the Mi Mix 3. You may have to look twice at the diagrams to see the extended portion at the top of the device, which shows the selfie cameras and the other sensors. The picture of the back panel shows the extended portion more clearly.
According to a prior leak, the Mi Mix 3 could be available in 2 main models, with several sub-variants. The standard variant will have 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage, priced from 3,399 RMB to 4,299 RMB. A Ceramic variant reportedly exists with 6GB/8GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage, the prices of which range from 4,399 RMB and up to 5,299 RMB.
We don’t know much about the tech specs of the phone, but if the Mi Mix 3 launch date is indeed October 15th, we can expect more leaks before the device is announced.
