Xiaomi has revealed the MIUI Android Q Update roadmap, detailing which devices will get the next gen Android OS version. There are many phones missing from the list, but we think it may be too early to criticize.
According to an announcement made in the official MIUI forums, the update will be released to the following devices.
MIUI Android Q Update roadmap – Q4 2019
List of Xiaomi devices which are eligible for Android Q Update
- Mi 9
- Redmi K20 Pro
- Mi 8
- Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition
- Mi 8 Explorer Edition
- Mi Mix 2S
- Mi Mix 3
- Redmi K20
- Mi 9 SE
The phones should get the update by the end of this year, but the company says it could vary depending on any changes made by Google’s planned Android Q release.
MIUI Android Q Update roadmap – Q1 2020
The Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro will also be eligible for the update, but the devices will only get it by the end of the 1st Quarter, next year. Current devices like the Redmi Note 7s, Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, etc and all previous gen phones like the Xiaomi Mi 8SE, Redmi 6, Redmi 5, etc are missing from the list.
It remains unclear whether they will get the update, though Xiaomi does mention it is discussing about including other phones in the program. We wouldn’t be too surprised if it doesn’t happen, given Xiaomi’s shoddy update records.
