Just yesterday we reported that Xiaomi is teasing a new flagship smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8XX along with 6 GB RAM and is scheduled to launch on July 11 i.e. tomorrow. Now a new rumour has surfaced which suggests that Xiaomi is working on a new series of smartphones under a new sub-brand in addition to the existing Redmi and Xiaomi Mi ones.
At the moment, the name of the new series or sub-brand is not revealed or even rumoured, though we have an alleged Render of the upcoming device which shows the phone from the back revealing a dual camera module at the rear. The Dual camera module is placed at the left top corner of the rear panel and is aligned horizontally along with the LED flash. The Antenna lines are seen at the top integrated seamlessly. The camera module alignment and the design look too similar to iPhone 7 Plus or even Oppo R11 or OnePlus 5.The rumour also indicates that Xiaomi is going to announce this new series this month only and it will be powered by the mid-range processor from Qualcomm i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. At the moment, we do not have any details about the technical specifications of the device or the name of the series.
We have also seen rumours/leaks suggesting Redmi Note 5A is in works and the technical specifications of the device are already leaked. Xiaomi Redmi 5A is rumoured to come with 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor (MSM8953 SOC chipset) along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. In terms of camera, it features a dual camera module consisting of a wide-angle OV12A10 OmniVision sensor and another OV13880 OmniVision sensor, while on the front it features front shooter with Samsung S5K5E8 sensor.
As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
