Mi India (Xiaomi) has launched it’s budget smartphone the Redmi 1s, in India.
The phone, like it’s bigger brother, the Mi 3, will be sold exclusively via Flipkart, using their highly criticized sales system.
The Redmi 1S will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, optimized with MIUI 5, with a KitKat update already in the works. The phone sports a 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS (1280x720p) with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It will be powered by a Quad-core 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, with an Adreno 305 GPU and 1 GB of RAM.
The Redmi 1S has 8 GB Internal Storage, which can be expanded up to 64 GB via a Micro SD card slot. It also supports USB OTG (On-The-Go). It features an 8 Megapixel shooter on the rear with f2.2 and LED flash, and a 1.6 Megapixel front camera. It packs a 2000 mAh Lithium-ion battery. It is a Dual-SIM phone which supports 2G and 3G networks.
