Xiaomi has launched a new budget phone in Beijing, China.
The phone is called the Redmi 2A, and shares most of its specifications with the Redmi 2.
The Redmi 2A is identical to the Redmi 2, except for the processor and the GPU.
The Redmi 2A is powered by a powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Leadcore Cortex A7 Processor (L1860C) with a Mali T628MP2 GPU, whereas the Redmi 2 runs on a 1.2GHz 64-Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, Cortex-A53 processor and an Adreno 306 GPU.
The Redmi 2A sports a 4.7″ 720p HD (1280x720p) IPS Display, and has 8GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD. The phone has a 8 Megapixel rear camera with f2.2 and LED flash, and a 2 Megapixel front camera. It is backed by a 2,200mAh battery, and supports 4G LTE networks.

But it is more affordable than the Redmi 2, which costs RMB 699 ($112 USD or Rs. 7,000). The new Redmi 2A costs just RMB 599 ($96 USD or Rs. 6,000), and will be available from April 8th, in China.
