Xiaomi has just announced the updated version of Redmi 3 smartphone in China i.e. Redmi 3 Pro. This Redmi 3 Pro version adds the fingerprint sensor which makes it a budget device with a fingerprint sensor too. The same variant of Redmi 3 with fingerprint sensor appeared on TENAA sometime back. Redmi 3 Pro is priced at 899 Yuan in China (~ $140) which is 200 Yuan higher, but is still a 5-inch 720p phone with all metal body with better specs compared to Redmi 3.
Apart from the addition of fingerprint sensor at the back, it also comes with higher ram of 3 GB instead of 2 GB and double the storage i.e. 32 GB instead of 16 GB. The support for MicroSD card remains for those who want to expand the storage(up to 128 GB MicroSD cards).
Everything else remains same as Redmi 3 in terms of hardware storage i.e. it comes with 5-inch HD (720p) screen powered by Snapdragon 616 octa-core chip & Adreno 405 GPU. In terms of camera it comes with 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front-facing shooter. It comes with 4G LTE and dual-SIM dual standby support. It is powered by the same 4100 mAh battery.
Redmi 3 Pro will be available in China in four different colors i.e. gold, grey, white and rose gold. At the moment, there is no information about the global roll-out of the device including countries such as India.
