Xiaomi is set to announce a new entry-level smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 5A on August 21, at a launch event in China. Redmi Note 5A has already appeared on TENAA few days ago revealing all the hardware specifications along with Render images of the device. The official confirmation of the launch of Redmi Note 5A on August 21, comes from the company official Weibo handle which released a teaser showing Xiaomi President Lin Bin with the name of the device and date of launch.
Based on the TENAA listing, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A features a 5.5-inch 720p HD TFT display powered by 1.4 GHz Quad-core processor (MDE6, MDT6) i.e. Snapdragon 425 / 1.4 GHz Octa-core processor (MDE6S, MDT6S) i.e. Snapdragon 430 along with 2GB / 3 GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB / 32 GB of internal storage and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based operating system out of the box with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 on top.
In terms of camera, the lower variant with 2 GB RAM comes with 13 MP main rear camera along with 5 MP front shooter, while the higher 3 GB RAM variant comes with 16 MP main rear camera along with 13 MP front shooter. In terms of battery, all the Note 5A variants are backed by 3,000 mAh battery. All the variants come with support for 4G LTE along with VOLTE.
In terms of dimensions, Redmi Note 5A measures 153.1 x 76.3 x 7.3 (mm) and weighs 150 grams. Redmi Note 5A will be available in Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray, and Silver color options.
