Xiaomi has officially launched its budget phablets, the Redmi Note 2 and Note 2 Prime in China.
There are actually two variants of the Note 2, with one supporting Dual SIM 4G (TDD)/3G and the other supporting Dual Sim LTE (TDD) + LTE (FDD). All three phones, (including the Note 2 Prime), share the same physical dimensions measuring at 152 x 76 x 8.25 mm and weigh 160g.
The Redmi Note 2 is powered by a MediaTek MTK Helio X10 Flagship Processor, Octa-core 64-bit, clocked at 2.0 GHz with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Note 2 Prime has a slightly over-clocked 2.2 GHz processor, with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The devices sport a 5.5 ” Full HD (1080p) Display, and run on MIUI 7 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The Redmi Note 2 features a 13 megapixel rear camera (Samsung/OV) with Phase Detection Autofocus, and a 5 megapixel front camera.
The Redmi Note 2 is backed by a 3060 mAh removable Battery, which supports Quick Charge 2.0. The Redmi Note 2 is available in 5 colors: White, Black, Pink, Brown, and Light Blue.
Pricing:
The Redmi Note 2 Dual SIM 4G (TDD)/3G has been priced at RMB 799 (about Rs. 8,100), while the Dual Sim LTE (TDD) + LTE (FDD) has been priced at RMB 899 (about Rs. 9,100).
The Redmi Note 2 Prime Dual Sim LTE (FDD + TDD) has been priced at RMB 999 (about Rs. 10,000).
