Few hours back, we reported about an alleged image revealing a new upgraded variant of Redmi Note 4 under the name of Redmi Note 4X appearing on the web. Now we can confirm that an upgrade Redmi Note 4 exists and it has already passed the Chinese certification agency TENAA. TENAA listing basically lists the earlier variant but with a note added on “2016-11-03” which talks about Memory change (increase “RAM 3GB + ROM 32GB”, “RAM 4GB + ROM 32GB”, “RAM 4GB + ROM 64GB” version) which means that the new device comes with 4 GB of RAM and two storage variants of 32 GB and 64 GB.
The new TENAA listing also includes the images of the device which in fact is same as that of Redmi Note 4. Apart from that, the new listing now represent the increased RAM and storage capacities of the device i.e. 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The model number remains same i.e. 2016050.
The other hardware specification listing appears to be same as that of Redmi Note 4. It still lists that it comes with 5.5 full HD display, powered by Mediatek Helio X20 deca-core processor along with 2 GB / 3 GB / 4 GB of RAM. In terms of camera, it comes with 13 MP main rear camera with PDAF & a 5 MP front shooter and is backed by a 4100 mAh battery and Fingerprint Scanner.
There may be a Snapdragon 653 variant also which earlier leaks have suggested. But the TENAA listing is yet to reflect that change. At the moment, we are yet to hear any official statement from Xiaomi regarding this new upgraded variant or any information on its official launch.
