An alleged retail box of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A has leaked on the web which leads to the speculation that Xiaomi may be working on a Redmi Note 5A and may launch it in future after they make the Redmi Note 5 official. Keep in mind that Redmi Note 5 is yet to be made official and till date, we have only seen a Redmi 4A variant without any similar variant in Note series. Unfortunately, the retail box doesn’t reveal any additional detail about the upcoming device including any hints on the specifications. We can only see the Xiaomi branding at the top of the red coloured retail box.
Even if we go by rumours, we haven’t heard anything about Redmi Note 5A till date, though rumours indicate that Redmi Note 5 may feature a 5.5-inch Ful HD 1080p display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor. The phone is expected to come with two variants of RAM i.e. 3 GB and 4 GB RAM. Similarly, the phone comes in two variants of internal storage i.e. 32 GB and 64 GB ROM. In terms of camera, it is rumoured to feature a 16 MP main rear camera and another 13 MP front shooter for selfies. The phone is backed by a 3790 mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based operating system with MIUI 9 on top of it.
Looking at the existing Xiaomi Redmi 4A (Read Review), it sports a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display, powered by 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 processor along with 2 GB of RAM. It comes with 16 GB internal storage and runs on MIUI 8 operating system based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It features a 13 MP main rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording and another 5 MP front shooter with f/2.2 aperture for selfies. In terms of connectivity, it comes with support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1. It is backed by a 3120 mAh battery.
