Asus has started to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for ZenFone 2 Laser ZE550KL smartphone model. Few weeks back, they rolled out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for another variant of Zenfone 2 Laser i.e. ZE500KL which is the 5 inch display variant. ZenFone 2 Laser ZE550KL is the more popular 5.5 inch model and users have waited to get the OTA update patiently.
This Marshmallow update brings Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system to the device, but Asus warns that the internal storage space available may decrease slightly after the update. Also, you should back up your data including media files such as pictures & video clips or anything else before applying the marshmallow update.
The Marshmallow update also results in no support for APP2SD i.e. you cannot transfer apps/games to microsd card to save phone storage. To make sure all your apps / games that are on microsd card keep working, move them to internal storage before the upgrade. The update also removes multi-user function, but old accounts will keep working unless you delete them.
The Marshmallow OTA update is rolling out in phases and will reach you soon. If you have not received the OTA update notification yet, you can check manually by visiting Setting->About->System Update.
