The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 WW-16.2017.1908.058 Update is rolling out to users. So what is new in this OTA?
ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 WW-16.2017.1908.058 update change log
1.Fix third party issue
2.Fix screen rotation flickering issue
That’s really not helpful, but we think what the “third party issue” actually means is that the company has fixed the Widevine L1 issue. If you remember the previous update, ASUS drew some flak from users, when it downgraded the Max Pro M1 Widevine level from L1 to L3.
You can see from the above picture that the device now supports Widevine Level L1. The update weighs about 142 MB to download from the previous version (WW-16.2017.1906.057).
The update also fixes the landscape issue which we reported earlier, where the phone’s screen would flicker when the orientation was switched from landscape to portrait.
Sadly, ASUS has not updated the device to the September Security Patch. You can download the full image of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 WW-16.2017.1908.058 update from the official website, or choose to wait for the OTA update to reach you.
We should mention this, but it took quite a bit longer than usual, to install the update and reboot the device.
