In last few weeks, we have seen reports/rumours of Lenovo shutting down its “ZUK” mobile brand and start focussing on just the “Moto” devices. Just last year though, Lenovo wanted to phase out the “Moto” brand in favour of Lenovo brand, but it got reversed this year as Lenovo is now focussing on Moto devices. Regarding ZUK, we have vague confirmations that it may be shutting down soon.
Today an alleged ZUK Z3 Max “About Phone” screenshot has surfaced on Weibo which suggests a new flagship device powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 SOC chip clocked at 2.5 GHz. If the ZUK brand is shutting down, then it may not see the light of the day (provided the leak is genuine). But looking at the leaked screenshot, it does appear to be a fake one or a photoshopped one.
As per this leaked screenshot, ZUK Z3 Max comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage out of which about 239 GB is available to end-user. The phone runs on ZUK ZUI 2.5.864 based on Android 7.1 (Nougat) operating system.
Zuk launched their last flagship device ZUK Edge in Dec 2016, which sports 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35GHz along with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with two RAM variants i.e. 6 GB and 4 GB of RAM. In terms of storage, it comes with 64 GB of internal storage and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system with ZUI on top.
As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
